All this during Catholic Easter week.
There is something you can do to help out, whether you’re Italian or not. A group of Italian Montrealers are meeting to come up with plans to send aid to the earthquake victims. You may want to join them!

…who is looking into cooking more at home.
Some items of note at our house:
We found these in blue and fuschia at Déco Découverte, and at Winners for about $15,00.
And most of the awesome line of heavy duty cast iron cookware from Lodge, also at Déco Découvert, and at Ares Kitchen and Baking Supplies. Check out […]

Leonard Cohen isn’t coming by his hometown to play during his North American tour.
But if you can, try buying tickets to see him in Quebec City this spring. You can buy tickets at www.leonardcohen.com.

Marcel Tremblay is no longer in charge of (not) snow removal
January 27th, 2009 · 1 Comment
We never thought this would happen, nepotism being what it is…but, it’s true! The king of crampons is now back in charge of community cultural affairs, Jean Drapeau Park, and throwing a giant birthday party for Montreal in 2017.
Here’s hoping, for our neighbour’s sake, that his successor Luis Miranda, gets it right(er).

And as culture has become a key point in recent elections, why not support it during the holiday season? A couple of shows makes a perfect gift, and the […]

Fabreville on Halloween is a 5-box candy neighbourhood
November 1st, 2008 · No Comments
So goes our first Halloween in Fabreville Ouest- we carved our first Jack-o-Lantern, laid out a giant spider web on our front steps, and then embedded plastic spiders and skeletons in it, and felt more than ready armed with 2 giant boxes of name-brand candy. We were determined to be ‘the cool house’.
Boy, were we […]

Expanding young minds at space camp
May 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Space camp. My inner tomboy is having a fit. She is telling me space camp? Why didn’t WE go to space camp back in the ’80s? I try to tell her it probably had to do with the fact that Montreal was too busy nursing its hangover from the ‘76 Olympics, and that the […]
